Grey Griffin, a renowned singer and voice actress, was born in Fort Ord, California. Her early life was marked by a challenging childhood, as her mother struggled with drug addiction. Grey's grandmother, a singer who often performed with the legendary Tito Puente, took on the role of caregiver, providing a nurturing environment that fostered Grey's love for music.
Growing up, Grey was deeply fascinated by goth bands, particularly The Cure, but her mother, a born-again Pentecostal, strictly prohibited her from listening to such music. Instead, Grey discovered her talent for singing gospel songs in her late teens, which eventually led her to explore stand-up comedy.
Grey's impressive vocal range and ability to master voice impressions soon led her to pursue a career in voice acting. She began by featuring in a few animation series and has since become a prominent figure in the industry, lending her voice to numerous video games.
Grey is perhaps best known for her iconic roles as "Vicky" in the Nickelodeon TV series "Fairly OddParents" (2001-2013) and "Mandy" in the Cartoon Network TV show "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" (2001-2007). She reprised her role as "Mandy" in two subsequent films, "Billy and Mandy Big Boogie Adventure" (2007) and "The Grim Adventures of KND" (2007),opposite Richard Steven Horvitz (Billy) and Greg Eagles (Grim).
In 2002, Grey DeLisle married musician Murry Hammond, the bassist for the band Old 97's. The couple welcomed their first child, Jefferson Texas Hammond, in 2007, in Los Angeles, California.
