Hart Hanson, a renowned television producer and showrunner, is the mastermind behind the hit Fox series Bones and The Finder. Prior to his success with these shows, Hart served as Executive Producer on the critically acclaimed CBS series Judging Amy, which earned an Emmy nomination, followed by his work on Joan of Arcadia, which won numerous awards including the HUMANITAS, Peoples's Choice Award, and the AFI Program of the Year Award. Additionally, Hart was Co-Executive Producer on the ABC series Cupid and Snoops.
Hart's extensive experience in the television industry began in Canada, where he wrote and produced several indigenous series, including Beachcombers, North of 60, The Odyssey, Ready or Not, The Road to Avonlea, Cold Squad, Stargate, and The Outer Limits, earning several Gemini nominations and four wins. He also won the Writers Guild of Canada Award for best writing in a television series for Traders and later executive produced the multi-award winning seasons Two through Four of the same series.
As a writer, Hart has developed pilots for 20th Century Fox, including Palm City, Expert Witness, Zuma, Buzz, and Pleading Guilty. Hart's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Political Theory and English from University College, University of Toronto, as well as a Master's degree in Political Theory and English and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia. Notably, Hart taught as an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia before pursuing a career in television.
In his personal life, Hart resides in Malibu with his wife, Brigitte, and their two sons.
