Herman Cohen's cinematic odyssey began during his preadolescent years at the Dexter Theater in Detroit, where he initially started out as a humble "gofer" tasked with menial duties. However, as he matured, he gradually took on a more significant role, serving as an usher and thus gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of the film industry. This early exposure to the cinematic world would eventually serve as the bedrock upon which his future endeavors were built.
Following his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Cohen transitioned to a sales management position at the Detroit branch of Columbia Pictures, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. Eventually, he made the bold decision to relocate to the City of Angels, joining the publicity department of Columbia Pictures in Hollywood.
