Born in the vibrant city of Dayton, Ohio, J. Paul Boehmer's passion for Speech and Drama began to flourish during his middle school years. This early exposure to the world of theatre set the stage for a lifelong pursuit of excellence in the performing arts.
As a young apprentice actor, J. Paul had the opportunity to work with The Kenley Players in Dayton, where he honed his skills by pushing sets, hanging lights, and observing the artistry of seasoned professionals on stage. This valuable experience not only taught him the technical aspects of theatre but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the craft.
Following his high school graduation in Dallas, Texas, J. Paul received a full scholarship and stipend to attend Kilgore Junior College. During his time at Kilgore, he was proud to be part of the inaugural season of The Texas Shakespeare Festival, where he had the chance to perform alongside other talented artists.
J. Paul's academic and artistic pursuits continued to flourish as he earned his B.F.A. at Southern Methodist University. While at SMU, he was awarded the prestigious Greer Garson Scholarship for Excellence in Theatre, a testament to his hard work and dedication to his craft.
To further refine his classical theatre training, J. Paul secured another full scholarship and stipend to pursue his M.F.A. at the prestigious PTTP: at the University of Delaware. This rigorous program allowed him to hone his skills and knowledge, ultimately preparing him for a successful career in the world of theatre.
