James Robinson is a Scottish actor and producer born in Glasgow, Scotland. He made his screen debut in the Oscar-winning film Braveheart, playing the young William Wallace, and has since appeared in notable productions such as Babylon, The Borgias, Doctors, Casualty, and Outlander. He has also starred as Alexander Hamilton in Washington for the History Channel US and Icon Films, and more recently wrapped filming as the lead in the seasonal romance Saving Christmas Spirit for Nicely Entertainment.
Throughout his career, Robinson has appeared in numerous theatre productions, including In Time O' Strife for the National Theatre of Scotland, Brassed Off for York Theatre Royal, and Macbeth for the National Theatre, directed by Rufus Norris. He is set to star in Joe Penhall's Landscape with Weapon in London.
In addition to his screen work, Robinson has also had a successful career in radio, playing the title role in Almost Tangible's Macbeth, which won the Grand Prize at the New York Radio Festival and earned him the Audio Production Awards' Audio Performer of the Year.
As a producer, Robinson has worked on short films, including To The Boats, which won awards across the circuit. In 2022, he featured in Barry Keoghan's directorial debut short film Animal for international fashion brand Gucci.
