Born in Philadelphia, Jesse has since relocated to London, where he has established himself as a renowned film director. His impressive portfolio includes directing films for both theatrical release and for major platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Studios, ESPN Films, Discovery+, and Nat Geo.
Jesse's feature documentary debut, "Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet", was released in 2012 and tells the remarkable story of American musician Jason Becker's courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. The film received widespread acclaim, screening at numerous international film festivals and garnering numerous awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the Hamptons International Film Festival. Jesse's work on this film also earned him a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Grierson Awards and a New York Times Critic's Pick.
Jesse's follow-up film, "The Prince of Pennsylvania", was released as part of ESPN Films' 30 for 30 documentary series. This bizarre and captivating film tells the story of John du Pont and his Foxcatcher wrestling team. The film premiered at the Philadelphia Film Festival and the Hot Springs Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Sports Documentary, before being released on ESPN. The 30 for 30 series went on to win an Emmy for Outstanding Short-Format Nonfiction.
Since then, Jesse has directed a wide range of films, including the feature documentary "Gypsy's Revenge" for ID Films, "This is Football" for Amazon Studios, and the Netflix Original documentary series "Captive" and "The Ripper", which became the #1 show on the platform following its release. His most recent project, the four-part documentary series "Curse of the Chippendales", premiered at the 65th London Film Festival in 2021 and was subsequently released on Discovery+.
