Jonathan David Fishman, a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and the United States, was born in Croydon, England, and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1968, when he moved to Stamford, Connecticut with his parents, Claire Ritoff, a librarian and media specialist, and Leon Fishman, a Korean War veteran and lab technician, along with his brother Simon.
Growing up, Fishman attended a private yeshiva day school, which had a profound impact on his life, as it not only instilled in him a strong sense of Jewish identity, but also fueled his passion for the theatre. This early exposure to the performing arts would ultimately shape his future career as an actor.
After completing his education at the University of Connecticut, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting, Fishman began his professional acting career in Hartford, Connecticut. Since then, he has collaborated on numerous projects for both stage and screen, amassing an impressive body of work.
