This significant event marked a new chapter in his life, as he, along with his parents, Claire Ritoff, a dedicated librarian and media specialist, and Leon Fishman, a brave veteran of the Korean War and skilled lab technician, made the bold decision to leave their familiar surroundings behind and start anew. Accompanying his parents on this journey was his younger brother, Simon, with whom he would form a lifelong bond. The family eventually settled in Stamford, Connecticut, where they would raise their sons and create a sense of belonging in their new home.
