Jorja Fox has made a lasting impression on the world of television by taking on pivotal roles in three of the most successful dramas in history: ER, The West Wing, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
As a teenager, Fox began her career as a fashion model before transitioning to formal training in acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York and under the guidance of veteran actor William Hickey at HB Studios.
After appearing in various films and TV series, Fox's big break came in 1996 when she landed a role in the incredibly popular ER TV series. She portrayed "Dr. Maggie Doyle", a lesbian, vegetarian, ER Resident from Chicago's south side, in 33 episodes.
Fox then secured a recurring role in the highly acclaimed The West Wing TV series, where she played Gina Toscano, a Secret Service agent tasked with protecting the President's college-age daughter.
From 2000 to 2008, Fox was a central figure in the TV series mega-hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, playing the role of crime scene investigator Sara Sidle. She reprised her role in 2009, 2010, and 2011, and returned as a regular from 2011 until the show concluded in 2015. Fox also appeared in the first season of CSI: Vegas in 2021.
Throughout her career, Fox has received numerous accolades, including a 2005 Screen Actors Guild award for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series, as well as awards for the show's 300th episode and the CSI finale, which aired in September 2015.
Before the pandemic in 2020, Fox worked on two films and a pilot for CBS. She is also the co-founder of a production company called Seafox productions, which has co-produced a musical about Dusty Springfield and four feature documentaries.
In addition to her work in television and film, Fox is a long-time advocate for environmental and animal welfare causes.
