Biography

Julia Faye West embarked on her artistic journey on November 4th, 1985, in the vibrant city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was during her formative years in preschool and kindergarten that she first discovered her passion for acting, taking her initial steps onto the stage as a young performer. This early introduction to the world of theatre would lay the foundation for a lifelong dedication to the performing arts, as she continued to nurture her talents throughout her childhood and adolescence in the Midwest. For over a decade, Julia's education remained deeply entrenched in the realm of the performing arts, with her time spent participating in a diverse range of plays and showcasing her comedic skills through Improv ComedySportz on stage.

Julia's early life was marked by significant change when her parents, both students working to make ends meet, decided to go their separate ways when she was just 5 years old. Despite this challenging beginning, Julia's parents, who were both strong advocates for following one's dreams, instilled in her a sense of tenacity and determination that would serve her well throughout her life.

In a heartfelt 2011 interview, Julia fondly reflected on the lessons her parents taught her, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity. She recalled how her parents, who had to overcome their own struggles with independence and humble beginnings, always encouraged her to chase her goals, no matter how daunting they may seem.

Julia's mother, who went on to become a nationally recognized motivational speaker and published author, played a particularly significant role in shaping Julia's worldview. By the time Julia was just 9 years old, her mother had already established herself as a respected voice in her community, and Julia was deeply inspired by her mother's unwavering dedication to her craft.

As Julia grew older, her mother's influence continued to shape her perspective on life, teaching her the value of hard work, determination, and the importance of never giving up on her dreams.

Julia's paternal figure, who would later ascend to the esteemed position of medical doctor, exercised a profound influence on her formative years. Julia spent a significant portion of her childhood, a span of 11 years, residing with her maternal guardian, during which time they collaborated on the authorship of children's and motivational literature, embarked on a plethora of stage, television, and radio performances as a motivational speaker, and embarked on extensive travel for professional purposes. As a result of their demanding schedule, Julia was afforded the unique opportunity to pursue home schooling, which allowed her to continue receiving personalized guidance from instructors at The Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.

Julia's journey towards self-sufficiency began at a remarkably young age of 18, when she made the bold decision to leave the comforts of her childhood home and strike out on her own, relocating to the sun-kissed state of Arizona.

As she navigated the uncharted territories of adulthood, Julia's entrepreneurial spirit and determination propelled her towards Los Angeles, a city renowned for its vibrant entertainment industry and endless opportunities for aspiring performers.

With a burning passion to turn her dreams into a reality, Julia immersed herself in the competitive world of acting, taking on a diverse range of roles in television shows and feature films to hone her craft and build her resume.

Throughout her early career, Julia worked tirelessly to support herself, taking on a variety of odd jobs to make ends meet, while simultaneously honing her skills and networking with industry professionals.

As her talent and dedication earned her recognition, Julia's hard work was rewarded with membership to the prestigious SAG-AFTRA, a union that has proudly represented the interests of performers for generations.

Through her unwavering dedication, Julia's journey has been marked by perseverance, creativity, and a refusal to be deterred by the challenges that inevitably arise in the pursuit of one's dreams.

Julia's unwavering enthusiasm for the art of acting prompted her to take the bold step of financing her own education through a rigorous regimen of classes and coaching sessions with some of the most esteemed instructors in the industry, including the illustrious Howard Fine, the renowned The Actors Studio West, the esteemed Actors Workshop Studios, the acclaimed Aquila/Morong Studio, and ongoing educational pursuits.

As her career continues to flourish, Julia now calls the vibrant city of Los Angeles her home, where she has dedicated the past few years to devoting her time and energy to raising her young son, who has recently begun to accompany her to various performances, public appearances, and charitable endeavors.
