Justin Wade's life is a fascinating tapestry woven from the threads of his diverse heritage and varied pursuits. Born in Montreal, Canada, to a French-Canadian mother, Bonnie Bernier, a makeup saleswoman, and a West-Indian father, Alfie Wade Jr., a jazz musician, Justin's early life was a blend of Canadian and New York City cultures.
Growing up between Montreal and Harlem, New York, Justin's formative years were marked by a unique blend of influences. At the age of 13, his mother remarried Paul Yaphe, a Jewish lawyer, further enriching Justin's cultural landscape. He completed his high school education in Canada, where he also developed a passion for hockey, playing Triple A hockey for Dawson College, and rugby, representing McGill University's Elite Team.
Justin's artistic inclinations led him to pursue a career in acting. At the age of 23, he was accepted into The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City, and began modeling for the Click Agency. He also studied physical therapy, while taking on bit parts in soap operas such as Passions and As The World Turns.
After booking his first national commercial, Justin made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles, where he continued to hone his craft, performing stand-up comedy and studying with esteemed institutions such as The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade. He was also a member of The Lost Nomads, a troupe that included fellow actor Josh Gad.
In 2002, Justin achieved a major milestone, becoming a paid regular at The World Famous Comedy Store, with his name subsequently inscribed on the venue's wall of fame. He went on to perform stand-up throughout the United States, Europe, and Canada, solidifying his reputation as a talented and versatile comedian.
In addition to his stand-up work, Justin has appeared in a wide range of television shows and films, including Alias, Hot In Cleveland, and Don't Trust The B**** in Apt. 23, as well as over 60 national commercials. He has also won several awards, including the Santa Monica Actors Guild's Best Supporting Actor award for his role in Ray Cooney's Run For Your Wife.
