Keesha Sharp is a talented actress, writer, and director known for her ability to bring complex characters to life on screen. Born in Rochester, New York, Sharp was immersed in music and studied the clarinet, piano, and cello at the prestigious Hochstein School of Music. She was a scholarship student at The Boston Conservatory, where she earned a B.F.A. in acting.
Sharp's early career included performances in the Broadway National Tour of Carousel, Off-Broadway in Michael Bradford's Living in the Wind, and eight different roles in the interactive comedy Eat the Runt. She also appeared in various theatre productions, including Abyssinia, Aida, Thunder Knockin', Jitney, The Producers, Big Street, Suburb, and Joe Turner's Come and Gone, where she read alongside playwright August Wilson himself.
Sharp's television credits include "Power Book II: Ghost," "Lethal Weapon," "Empire," "The Good Fight," "Are We There Yet," and "Girlfriends." She was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on "Girlfriends." Sharp has also appeared in several films, including "Marshall," "Why Did I Get Married?," "Frozen Peas," "Born Guilty," "The 636," and "American Adobo."
In addition to her acting credits, Sharp has also worked as a director on various television shows, including "Are We There Yet," "Lethal Weapon," "Black Lightning," "The Last OG," "Bel Air," "Found," "All American: Homecoming," "Our Kind of People," and "Charmed."
