Kurt Koehler, a talented individual with a rich background, was born and raised in the state of New Jersey. He later pursued his academic endeavors in the city that never sleeps, New York City, where he attended AMDA and graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting and a minor in Directing.
Koehler's journey as a stage director began in 1998 with a critically acclaimed revival of the play "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom" in Los Angeles. The LA Times praised his direction and production, labeling it as "hilarious!" Eight years later, in 2010, he revived "Women Behind Bars" in Hollywood, earning the title of "the Camp Specialist" in the process.
One of Koehler's most notable creations is the underground cult classic "Chico's Angels," a Latino-Drag spoof of Charlie's Angels that ran for an impressive eighteen years in the basement of a Mexican Restaurant in Silverlake to sold-out houses. The success of "Chico's Angels" also spawned short films, a web series, and music videos.
Koehler's collaborative efforts did not stop there. He teamed up with Julie Brown to stage adaptations of "Earth Girls are Easy" and "The Homecoming Queen Has Got A Gun," showcasing his versatility and creative range as a director.
