At the tender age of 13, Canadian native Downes embarked on a remarkable journey in the entertainment industry, initially venturing into the world of acting in Toronto. For the next decade, he consistently worked as a versatile actor, gracing the screens with appearances in independent films and television series, including leading roles in the teen drama "Higher Ground" and Disney's beloved "Lizzie McGuire".
As the years went by, Downes found himself increasingly drawn to the creative aspects of filmmaking, ultimately shifting his focus towards writing, producing, and directing. Through his dedication and perseverance, he honed his skills by crafting several short films and working behind the scenes on various productions. This experience served as the foundation for his anthology drama "10/10", as well as his ambitious feature-length neo-noir thriller "Proxy Kill".
