Larry Weissman, professionally known as Larry A'Weissman, was born in 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Staten Island with his parents, Naomi and Joel, and his brother Michael, in 1968. The family's life took a devastating turn in late November 1969, when Michael, just four days shy of his fifth birthday, succumbed to illness.
Following his brother's passing, Larry's parents separated, and he lived with his mother, Naomi, while his father, Joel, maintained a regular visitation schedule. Despite the turmoil, Larry discovered his passion for acting through community theatre and school plays.
However, his life took another unexpected turn in July 1977, when he was diagnosed with Leukemia. Undeterred, Larry resumed high school, sporting a bald head, and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Hofstra University. After being declared in complete remission, he temporarily shifted his focus to fast food management, but ultimately returned to his true calling.
Larry's father eventually made it financially possible for him to pursue his dream of acting. He spent five years honing his craft in the New York City independent theatre scene. Tragedy struck again when his mother, Naomi, passed away from Lung Cancer, prompting Larry to relocate to Los Angeles to explore opportunities in television and film.
Today, Larry resides in San Fernando, California, with his partner, Steve, and their rescue dog, Cookie.
