Lisa's journey in the entertainment industry began as a backup dancer, touring and opening shows for renowned artists such as Public Enemy, Candy Man, and Epmd, among many others. This experience laid the foundation for her transition into a rap artist, joining the group 19 after several studio sessions and meetings with label executives. Despite being offered a record deal, Lisa opted to answer her calling to the ministry.
In 1999, she wrote and produced a Gospel stage play, "A Change is Gonna Come," directed by Tyler Perry. Little did she know, a change was indeed coming, as she was thrust back into the industry she was not supposed to leave.
Lisa's subsequent endeavors included producing and hosting an entertainment show, "The Industry," which aired on UPN. She also wrote, produced, and starred in an independent feature film, "Blackball," and co-produced the feature "Tapped Out." Her acting credits include appearances in movies such as "Must Be the Music" alongside Charles Dutton and Tasha Smith, "Envy or Greed" with Rockmund Dunbar and Dorien Wilson, "First Impressions" with Lamman Rucker and Elise Neal, and "The Internship" with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
Lisa has also made guest appearances on television shows like "Meet the Browns," "Born Again Virgin," and many others, as well as appearances on CNN and various talk shows. Currently, she is one of the Hollywood Divas on TV One.
In addition to her acting and producing endeavors, Lisa has written several books and co-authored a book with Miasha Coleman, entitled "When the Cake is Made," which is being adapted for the screen.
