Mandy Fabian, a talented filmmaker, made her debut feature film, Jess Plus None, in 2023. This notable achievement earned her a prestigious New Narratives grant from Warner Bros One-Fifty and the WIF ReFrame Stamp, a distinction recognizing projects that prioritize gender balance in their hiring practices. Jess Plus None premiered at the 2023 BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, solidifying Mandy's reputation as a visionary filmmaker.
In addition to her work in film, Mandy has also made a significant impact in television. She co-created and directed The Young Hillary Diaries, Lifetime's first digital series, which earned her a fellowship from the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directing Program. Her accomplishments did not go unnoticed, as she was later named "Best New Filmmaker of the Year" by NewFilmmakers LA.
Mandy's writing skills have also been recognized, with her screenplay Late Bloomer selected for the NYWIFT Meryl Streep/Oprah Winfrey Writers Lab. In 2020, she was one of six directors chosen to lead an all-female crew for the Women's Weekend Film Challenge. Her work on the Amazon digital series Dropping the Soap, which won Jane Lynch an Emmy for Best Actress in a Short Form Original in 2017, further demonstrates her versatility and talent.
Mandy's award-winning short films have received theatrical distribution, including Last Weekend, Somebody's Mother, and Killing Vivian. These films have not only showcased her storytelling abilities but also her dedication to creating high-quality content.
When she is not working on her next project, Mandy can be found in Los Angeles or London with her husband, Patrick Fabian, and their two daughters, Abbey and Delilah.
