Mark Collier was born in Boynton Beach, Florida, where he drew inspiration from his mixed ancestry of Danish, English, Irish, and Choctaw heritage. His father, a certified public accountant, and his mother, a dedicated nurse, relocated the family to Ocala, Florida, when Mark was a young boy, where he spent most of his childhood.
As a precocious 10-year-old, Mark began his journey in local theater productions, a passion that would stay with him throughout his life. As he entered high school, his focus shifted towards sports, and he excelled in wrestling and soccer, showcasing his versatility and athleticism.
Mark's academic pursuits led him to Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of the esteemed Sigma Chi Fraternity and graduated with a degree in Accounting. However, his true calling remained in the world of acting, and at the age of 28, he made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles and pursue his dreams.
To make ends meet, Mark juggled three jobs as a bouncer, waiter, and Pilates instructor, all while continuing his studies and becoming a member of the prestigious Blue Sphere Alliance theater company. His hard work and dedication eventually paid off when he landed a small role in a Dixie Chicks music video, followed by a breakthrough appearance in the long-running CBS daytime drama As the World Turns in 2002.
Mark's portrayal of the complex character Mike Kasnoff earned him a Soap Opera Digest nomination for outstanding newcomer in 2003. During his time in New York, he completed a two-year Meisner program taught by the renowned William Esper and attended the Actors Movement Studio, further honing his craft.
In 2005, Mark had the esteemed honor of presenting at the 31st Annual People's Choice Awards. Today, he resides in Los Angeles, where he is an active contributor and supporter of Free Arts for Abused Children and a lifetime member of the Surfrider Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to his community.
