Mark Pinter, a native of Decorah, Iowa, received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts from Iowa State University and his Master of Fine Arts in acting from Wayne State University's prestigious Hilberry Repertory Theatre.
Pinter has had a long and successful career in daytime television, playing memorable characters on all major networks, including Roger Smythe on All My Children and Grant Harrison in Another World, for which he received the Best Villain Award from Soap Opera Digest in 1996.
He has also guest-starred on numerous primetime television shows, including NCIS: Los Angeles, Cold Case, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Charlie's Angels, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, and Hunter.
In addition to his television work, Pinter has appeared in several films, including Norman Jewison's Other People's Money, The Eden Myth, Vanilla Sky, and Season of Youth.
On stage, Pinter has performed in numerous regional productions, including Becky's New Car, The Price, Book of Days, Hamlet, Charley's Aunt, Equus, Black Comedy, and The Shadow Box.
He has also appeared in several Off-Broadway productions, including My Sweetheart's the Man in the Moon, Three on a Couch, Portraits, and Home.
Pinter was married to actress Colleen Zenk, who played the role of Barbara Ryan on the long-running CBS daytime series As the World Turns for 30 years.
