Biography

Marta Cross, a talented actress, began her acting career on stage at the tender age of 9, born in Panama and spending her early years in Costa Rica. As her family relocated to Texas, she landed leading roles in the horror films Side FX, alongside Amber Heard, and Red Ridge. Following her first theatrical debut in Believe In Me, co-starring with Jeffrey Donovan, she moved to Los Angeles, where she went on to secure recurring roles on Showtime's Weeds and Nickelodeon's iCarly.

Marta's accomplishments in the independent film world are noteworthy, particularly her starring role in the Berlinale Panorama Feature Short Cut To Hollywood. Recently, she wrapped filming on the Romantic Comedy The Bounce Back, alongside Shemar Moore and Nadine Velazquez, and the thriller Dead Men Float, directed by Jon Hess, set to release in 2016.

In addition to her acting career, Marta has been cast in various guest starring roles on ABC's Castle, Off The Map, NCIS: Los Angeles, and ABC's new pilot Kings of Van Nuys. Hallmark has also selected her for the romantic comedy Hopeless Romantic, where she plays the role of Krista Chapman, a jaded romantic who gives love another chance.

Marta's passion for filmmaking has evolved into writing and producing, working with local filmmakers in Texas to bring their projects to life. She continued to develop her skills in Los Angeles, producing several shorts and the feature film The Land Of Shadowed Sand, which won an award at the prestigious Austin Film Festival. Although she has directed many times on stage, her film directorial debut with Sober was in 2013, made possible through her executive producers at Waterstone Entertainment.

Marta continues to direct and write, having recently completed her Indiegogo campaign for the English/Spanish film Sisters and is in development to write and star in her English/Spanish series ChiChi & Tucci. She is set to direct the indie feature Carry Me Home in the fall of 2016 with Waterstone Entertainment and is committed to being a voice for Latin Americans and female filmmakers in the next decade.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Marta gives back to the community through her show Sor Juana, which she brings to the Los Angeles School District to teach kids about literacy and perseverance. She also regularly works with young Latino actors and actors with disabilities at the Frida Kahlo Theater in East Los Angeles, helping them find their voice through theater and the arts.
