Alex Mathias Retamal Soto, a multifaceted individual with a rich cultural heritage, was born on August 14, 1984, in Santiago, Chile. His life took a significant turn in 1989 when his family migrated to Montreal, Canada, in pursuit of a better future and a fresh start. Growing up in a multilingual household, he was exposed to the nuances of Spanish and French, which would later influence his artistic pursuits.
As a young boy, Alex was captivated by cinematic masterpieces such as Scarface, Blood In, Blood Out, Casino, and Carlito's Way. These films not only entertained him but also inspired him to become an actor, and he would later find himself drawn to roles that mirrored the dark and intense storylines of his favorite movies.
Fast-forward to 2008, Alex made a conscious decision to transform his life. He enrolled in Collège O'Sullivan de Montréal, studying Media Technology for Film and Television Production Sets, and began working as a freelance behind-the-scenes professional.
The year 2011 marked a significant milestone in Alex's journey as he relocated to Vancouver, B.C., driven by an ambitious goal to pursue his dreams. He attended the Vancouver Acting School and graduated in 2012, solidifying his commitment to the craft.
Alex's hard work and perseverance finally paid off in 2013 when he made his television debut in CW's The Tomorrow People. From that moment on, this Chilean-French-Canadian talent has been on a roll, booking one project after another and cementing his status as a rising star in the entertainment industry.
