Michael Anthony Spady is a renowned deaf actor, widely recognized for his outstanding performances in various film and television projects.
Born in New Rochelle, New York, Spady began his acting career at the tender age of nine, and has since appeared in numerous plays, including the critically acclaimed off-Broadway production of "Emperor Jones," where he portrayed the role of Chief Liem.
In 2001, Spady was awarded a scholarship to Deaf West's Summer Program in Los Angeles, but his parents insisted that he return to New York to complete his college program. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2006, the same institution attended by UFC legend Matt Hamill, a deaf fighter. However, Spady's sport of choice was track and field.
Following his graduation, Spady returned to California and has since appeared in several films, including "Sympathy for Delicious," which won the Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, and "Hamill," which received the Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the AFI Fest. His television credits include "Cold Case" and "Love That Girl!," as well as a few commercials and the music video "We Made It" with Busta Rhymes and Linkin Park.
Spady's remarkable talent and dedication have earned him a full scholarship to the prestigious Stella Adler School in Hollywood, courtesy of his good friend and mentor, Mark Ruffalo.
