Mike's life journey began in Philadelphia, where he spent his formative years before relocating to New York to pursue higher education. At Fordham University, he studied theatre and Classical languages, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. He further honed his craft at The Neighborhood Playhouse in Manhattan, an experience that earned him the distinction of being a Lifetime Member of The Actor's Studio.
Born and raised in Philadelphia's working-class community, Mike's roots have had a profound influence on his creative endeavors. His passion for empowering talented artists to create their own opportunities is the driving force behind Scrappletown Films. The organization's mission statement, "if you have ideas that need to be heard, Don't Wait. Create," resonates deeply with Mike, who has consistently demonstrated a commitment to this principle throughout his career.
Mike's breakout role was in the web series "The Super Man," which he created and starred in almost a decade ago. Inspired by his real-life experiences as a building manager in Los Angeles, the show went on to win the Audience Award at the ITV Festival in Los Angeles. This success led to a meeting with Rob Mcelhenney, creator of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," and a series regular role on the Fox Pilot "Living Loaded." Notably, Mike was unrepresented at the time, underscoring his dedication to his craft and perseverance in the face of uncertainty.
In addition to his work in television, Mike has created several shows in various phases of development, including "Dirty Cops," which won the Best Web-Series award at the 2016 HollyShorts Film Festival and 2018 Portland Comedy Film Festival. He also penned and starred in the dark comedy "Kensington," which premiered in 2019 and won the Best Pilot award at the Soho International Film Festival in NYC. The film was also an Official Selection at the prestigious Newport Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, and Series Festival in Denver, and received widespread acclaim at the FirstGlance Film Festival in Philadelphia, where it won several awards, including Best Ensemble, Best Shot in Philadelphia, and the Audience Award for Best Short Film.
Mike's impressive portfolio also includes over 50 national commercials in the last 20 years, as well as numerous voice-over credits for products such as Taco Bell and Toyota. He is currently in production on another dark comedy set in Philadelphia, slated for release in 2021.
