Mike Ruiz's photographic journey began at the tender age of 28, when he discovered a camera under his Christmas tree. This serendipitous find sparked an instant obsession, as he began snapping pictures of everything in sight. With a self-taught expertise in the intricacies of camera mechanics, it took Ruiz a couple of years to realize that his passion could potentially be a lucrative career.
Now based in New Jersey, Ruiz has established himself as a renowned photographer, specializing in beauty, celebrity, and fashion photography. His impressive roster of celebrity clients includes Priyanka Chopra, Lewis Hamilton, Cardi B, Ruby Rose, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Prince, Taraji P. Henson, Penn Badgley, Lakeith Stanfield, Kelly Clarkson, Queen Latifah, Betty White, and many more.
In addition to his photography work, Ruiz has also ventured into music video direction, helming projects for artists such as Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Williams, Erika Jayne, and RuPaul. He made his feature film directorial debut with the hilarious comedy "StarrBooty," starring the one and only RuPaul.
Ruiz has become a familiar face on television, appearing frequently as an expert in his field on shows like America's and Canada's Next Top Model, Rupaul's Dragrace, and numerous other programs.
