Mike Weinberg's acting career began at the tender age of 8, when he wrapped his role as Adam in Irwin Winkler's Life as a House on February 16, 2001, coinciding with his birthday. Prior to this, he had already made his feature film debut in the independent film Spooky House, starring his older brother Matt, Ben Kingsley, and Mercedes Ruehl, in 1998. This initial experience sparked his passion for the craft, and upon returning to the United States, Mike began auditioning for his own roles.
Within a short span of two years, Mike achieved significant success, landing guest roles on various television shows. He portrayed a boy with enhanced intelligence and skills in Fox's Dark Angel, a boy believed to be the illegitimate son of a famous televangelist in CBS's Family Law, and a boy who gives up his security blanket to keep his father safe on a business trip in PAX's Chicken Soup for the Soul.
Mike's guest star appearances also included roles on NBC's ER, where he played a boy anxious to see Santa at the mall, requiring a trip to the hospital after an accident, and on CBS's Judging Amy, where he portrayed one of three angry children divided in their opinion about which fighting parent they want to live with.
In addition to his dramatic roles, Mike has also showcased his comedic skills, appearing as a little boy who notices that the fire station is on fire on ABC's Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place, and as a 5-year-old in a flashback on Lifetime's hit series Oh Baby.
Mike has also been featured in numerous commercials, including a national McDonald's commercial that debuted between the Super Bowl and Survivor II in January 2001. His acting coach is Marnie Cooper, while Larry Moss serves as his dialect coach. He is represented by Innovative Artists for theatrical work and Abrams Artists for commercials, and is managed by Elissa Leeds of Reel Talent Management, Inc.
When not honing his acting skills, Mike is a student at a Los Angeles public school and the starting shortstop for his little league team, the Cubs. He resides in Los Angeles with his mother, Dana; father, Larry, a public relations executive; older brother Matt, 10; three dogs; one frog; and one lizard.
