Natalie Desselle Reid, a talented actress, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, and grew up in a city that would later influence her career. She attended Peabody Magnet High School and went on to study at Grambling State University for two and a half years, where she discovered her passion for acting after starring in the university's production of "Bubbling Brown Sugar".
After several years of honing her craft, Natalie decided to take a chance and move to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams. However, she quickly realized that Hollywood was not yet aware of her arrival, and she found herself working a series of unconventional jobs, including a receptionist, a soul food waitress, and even a tank mechanic at McDonnell Douglas.
Despite these challenges, Natalie remained committed to her goal of becoming a successful actress. She drew inspiration from the unconventional careers of Roseanne, Oprah, and Whoopi, and began to chart her own course. Her big break came when she was cast in F. Gary Gray's "Set It Off", which led to a guest starring role on the popular television show "Family Matters".
Natalie's next significant role was in Robert Townsend's "B.A.P.S", where she starred alongside Halle Berry and established herself as a comedic actress. She went on to appear in a number of films and television shows, including "How to be a Player", "Cinderella", "Built to Last", and "For Your Love".
In the 2000s, Natalie played the role of Janie Egins on the television show "Eve" for three seasons, and appeared in one of her last film roles in Tyler Perry's "Madea's Big Happy Family" in 2011. Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Natalie's greatest joy was her family, which included her husband Lenny Reid and their three children, Sereno, Summer, and Sasha.
