Nicholas Brendon, born on April 12, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, entered the world three minutes after his identical twin brother, actor Kelly Donovan. Growing up, he attended Chatsworth High School, where he struggled with stuttering, a challenge he would later overcome as a spokesperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America. Despite his struggles, Brendon found success as a starter on the baseball team, an experience that fueled his dreams of playing for the L.A. Dodgers. However, after hurting his arm about a year after graduating high school, he had to pursue alternative options.
Brendon's big break came when he landed the role of Xander Harris on the critically acclaimed TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 1997. The show ran for six seasons, earning a massive cult following and a large fan base for Brendon. His brother Kelly made a special appearance in the episode "The Replacement," where Xander faces a seemingly sinister double. Brendon's first major role in a feature film was in the Charles Busch satire Psycho Beach Party in 2000.
In addition to his film and television work, Brendon has also appeared in the ABC Family Channel original movie Celeste in the City in 2004. He has used his platform to support various causes, including his role as a spokesperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America, appearing in a print campaign for the organization.
