Nick Simon is a filmmaker from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, whose multicultural upbringing, rooted in his Syrian/Lebanese heritage, has instilled in him a unique voice in genre storytelling.
Born and raised in Sioux Falls, Simon's creative journey began by shooting DIY music videos for local punk bands before making the move to Los Angeles in 2006 to attend the prestigious American Film Institute, where he was fortunate enough to be mentored by the legendary horror director Wes Craven.
Simon's feature film credits are an impressive list, including The Pyramid, released by 20th Century Fox, and The Girl in the Photographs, which premiered at the renowned Toronto International Film Festival. His 2018 film, Truth or Dare, has become a perennial Top 10 Halloween title on Netflix.
In addition to his feature work, Simon is also a co-writer on an upcoming narrative project with Alexandre Aja for Paramount Pictures.
In 2021, Simon took on the challenge of directing Untitled Horror Movie, a critically acclaimed experiment in remote filmmaking, shot entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown. His most recent projects include Entity Within, a supernatural horror film based on the true story behind The Entity case, starring Heather Graham and Mimi Rogers, and Coyote, a psychological thriller led by Justin Long and Kate Bosworth.
