Onahoua Rodriguez, a talented individual, hails from the vibrant city of New York. She received her training at the esteemed American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Her early career took off when she was cast to play the captivating role of The Bride in Blood Wedding at the renowned La Jolla Playhouse, ultimately leading her to relocate to the city of angels, Los Angeles.
Since then, Onahoua has made notable appearances on various television shows, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Saving Grace, ER, NYPD Blue, Cold Case, CSI Miami, Boston Public, Cover Me, and The Allison Anders pilot In The Echo. She is perhaps most recognizable for her roles as Emolia Melendez on The Shield and Maria "Mermex" on the current season of Weeds. Her impressive filmography also includes a notable performance as Wanda Love in Rhythm Of The Saints, which premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival in the Dramatic Film Category.
Onahoua continues to excel in the world of theater, taking on roles in notable productions such as Nilo Cruz's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna In The Tropics at South Coast Rep., The Coconut Grove Playhouse, and The Skirball Center. She also starred in the world premiere of Cruz's Beauty Of The Father at the Seattle Rep.
More recently, Onahoua took on the leading role in the world premiere of Octavio Solis' Lydia at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts. She will reprise this role in 2009 at the esteemed Yale Repertory Theater and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
