Biography

Park Ji-yeon, also known as Jiyeon, is a South Korean singer and actress born on June 7, 1993, in Seoul. She debuted as a member of the girl group T-ara in July 2009, which went on to become one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.

Apart from her group's activities, Jiyeon has also starred in various television dramas such as Soul, Master of Study, Dream High 2, and Triangle, as well as films like Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp and Encounter. She debuted as a solo artist with her first EP, Never Ever, on May 20, 2014, making her the first T-ara member to debut as a solo artist.

Jiyeon attended Hyehwa Girls' High School and graduated from Lila Art High School in 2012. She did not attend university to focus on her career. She has expressed an interest in modeling and has collaborated with various artists, including Davichi, SeeYa, and 2BiC's Jun-hyung.

In 2008, Jiyeon auditioned at the Mnet Casting System and joined the company, subsequently debuting with T-ara on July 29, 2009. She has also hosted various music shows and variety programs, including MBC's Show! Music Core and SBS's variety show Heroes.

In 2014, Jiyeon made her solo debut with the title track "Never Ever," which ranked number one on China's biggest music video site YinYueTai for two weeks straight. She has since released several solo tracks and has collaborated with other artists.

Jiyeon has also ventured into acting, starring in dramas like Jungle Fish 2, Master of Study, and Triangle, as well as films like Death Bell 2: Bloody Camp and Encounter. She has won several awards for her performances, including the Best New Actress award at the 2010 SBS Drama Awards.

In 2018, Jiyeon left MBK Entertainment and signed with Chinese agency Longzhen Culture Development. She has since released several solo tracks and has collaborated with other artists.

In 2020, Jiyeon announced that she would be starring in a new web drama called "Next Door Witch J" and another TV series called Imitation.
