Patrick was born in Lackawanna, New York, and spent his formative years in South Buffalo, where he attended South Park High School. He is the son of P J Byrnes and Joan (née Sim),a proud family heritage that has undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping his artistic journey.
As a thespian, Patrick has made a name for himself in Dublin, Ireland, where he has received critical acclaim for his performances in various productions. Some of his most notable roles include playing the iconic Rock Hudson in "Hollywood Valhalla", Lenny in "Of Mice and Men", Boss Finley in "Sweet Bird of Youth", and Lars in "Festen", a production staged by The Gate Theatre.
Patrick's acting career began with The NOW Theatre Company in Lockport, New York, where he honed his craft alongside fellow thespians. He subsequently went on to collaborate with various companies in Buffalo and the surrounding area, including The Buffalo Entertainment Theatre, The University at Buffalo, and Buffalo State College. His work in the city also saw him team up with renowned artists Daryl Chin and Larry Qualls, with whom he co-starred in the production of "The Dialectic of Enlightement".
In recent years, Patrick has expanded his repertoire to include film and television. He has made notable appearances in Oliver Stone's "Snowden", playing the role of the Deputy Director of the NSA, and more recently, he portrayed Jefferson Maltby, a member of the Palestinian Committee, in the post-war drama series "Traitors" for Chanel 4 UK and Netflix.
