Peter Mark Kendall was born in Baltimore, Maryland to parents who had emigrated with his three older siblings from South Africa in 1985. He grew up in Towson, a suburb located outside of the city. At McDaniel College, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Jazz Studies, before proceeding to receive a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting from the prestigious Brown University/Trinity Rep Program.
Following his graduation in 2013, Peter has made a name for himself on Broadway, starring in the Tony-nominated revival of "Six Degrees of Separation" alongside the acclaimed Allison Janney. He has also appeared in various off-Broadway productions, including Samuel D. Hunter's "The Harvest" at Lincoln Center, "Mercury Fur" at The New Group, and "The Rose Tattoo" at the Samuel Friedman Theater, opposite the talented Patti LuPone.
In television, Peter has been a series regular on CBS All Access' "Strange Angel." He has also had recurring roles on "The Americans," "Girls," and "Chicago Med," as well as numerous guest-starring roles on popular shows such as "Gotham," "SVU," "The Leftovers," and "The Good Fight."
In film, Peter has appeared in "Louder Than Bombs," "Time Out of Mind," "The Ticket" (TriBeCa),and "Seven Lovers." When not acting, Peter is an accomplished musician, having created music for Hickory Collective, which composes music for film, ads, and podcasts.
Peter is married to actor Helen Cespedes and resides with her in Manhattan, New York.
