Randy Spelling, the son of the late legendary Hollywood producer Aaron Spelling and his wife Candy Spelling, grew up in the affluent neighborhood of Beverly Hills, California, where he attended Montclair College Prep alongside his sister, actress Tori Spelling.
Randy made his television debut in 1992 on the popular Fox prime time series Beverly Hills, 90210, and later held a recurring role on the same program. He went on to star in the NBC series Malibu Shores in 1996 and the NBC soap opera Sunset Beach in 1997, as well as guest-star on the WB series 7th Heaven in the same year.
After spending three and a half years on Sunset Beach, Randy transitioned into the record business and founded his own record label, Spellbound/Vocab Records, serving as its CEO. Under his leadership, the label released albums for numerous platinum artists.
While continuing his work in the music industry, Randy made his feature film debut in the thriller Held for Ransom in 2000, opposite Dennis Hopper and Zachery Ty Bryan. He went on to co-star in the indie cult hit Dorm Daze in 2003 and the film Pledge This! in 2006, alongside Paris Hilton, Simon Rex, Paula Garcés, Sarah Carter, and Carmen Electra.
Randy's subsequent roles include the indie horror film Dimples, opposite Ashley Peldon and Madeline Zima, and the gritty indie horror film Hoboken Hollow, alongside C. Thomas Howell, Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, Lin Shaye, and Jason Connery. He also starred in Michael Damian's critically acclaimed directorial debut Hot Tamale in 2006, co-starring Carmen Electra, Diora Baird, and Jason Priestley, which won the Indie Spirit Best Picture Award at the 2006 Boston International Film Festival.
Randy recently wrapped production on the environmentally friendly independent feature Cosmic Radio, set for release in 2007, alongside Michael Madsen, Rider Strong, and Wes Studi. Following in his father's footsteps, Randy wrote a pilot for Paramount Television and is currently developing several film and television projects, which he will produce in 2007 and beyond. Additionally, Randy is a producer on A&E's forthcoming real-life series Sons of Hollywood, set to premiere in April.
