Ron Yuan wrapped up his role as one of the ensemble leads in Disney's live adaptation of Mulan, directed by Niki Caro, as the battle-hardened Master Sgt. Qiang, the 2nd in command of the Imperial Regiment.
He joined the cast of Netflix's Marco Polo as series regular Prince Nayan, created by John Fusco, and filmed Roland Emmerich's Independence Day: Resurgence, playing the main weapons engineer Yeong.
Before that, he appeared in The Accountant, directed by Gavin O'Connor, as a reluctant Silat Master, and in the final season of Sons of Anarchy, playing the intense and unpredictable Ryu Tom.
He also had roles in episodes of Justified, Castle, Golden Boy, and The Blacklist, and joined Francesca Eastwood and Annie Q. Riegel in MDMA.
In Mortal Kombat 11, he voiced Scorpion, and made his directorial debut with Step Up China.
In the ABC/Freeform series Siren, he played Aldon Decker, a military marine biologist who unwittingly falls in love with a predator mermaid.
As an action director, he designed and directed the fight sequences for Wild Card and Black & White: The Dawn of Justice, and played characters in story arcs on FOX's Touch and NBC's Awake.
He was also the voice behind major gaming campaigns, including Call of Duty-Black Ops 2, Halo, Star Wars' Old Republic, Resident Evil, World of Warcraft, Medal of Honor, Army of Two, Guild Wars 2, Deus Ex, and Drake's Uncharted.
Yuan's MiniFlix Films with Sony Television co-produced three films, in which he wrote, produced, and directed, and his award-winning work in short film and features has premiered in over 30 film festivals worldwide.
