Born in California, Downing grew up in the captivating Seattle region. He graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in visual communications, graphic design, and learning and development.
As a prolific actor, Downing has participated in over 40 film and web ventures, captivating audiences with his exceptional acting skills. He won the prestigious Best Actor award at the Hollywood Hills Film Awards for his performance in the short film "Nemesis" directed by Tim Earnheart, one of his mentors.
Downing's artistic expression extends beyond acting. He has worked as a cinematographer, editor, SFX designer, and sound designer for the short film "Pyrocene". He co-founded The Downing Duo, a production entity with his spouse Katelyn Downing. They are committed to nurturing their creative ingenuity through innovative independent projects.
Their inaugural project, "Cozen", is a testament to their shared vision, with Joe as the scriptwriter and co-director. They plan to continue developing new projects, including a continuous storyline that follows "Cozen".
