Samuel Ernest Wright, a distinguished African-American actor and singer, emerged from the charming town of Camden, South Carolina. Throughout his illustrious career, he left an indelible mark with an array of notable roles, with one of his most memorable performances being the voice of Sebastian the Crab in Disney's timeless The Little Mermaid franchise. Wright's remarkable versatility as a voice actor was further demonstrated through his captivating portrayal of Kron the Iguanodon in the Disney animated film Dinosaur. Moreover, his commanding stage presence earned him the esteemed role of Mufasa in the original Broadway production of The Lion King. Unfortunately, Wright's life was tragically cut short in May 2021 when he succumbed to prostate cancer at a location in California, leaving behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire and delight future generations.
