Sean Connolly is a multifaceted artist with a diverse range of credits in film, television, and audio drama. Born in Derbyshire, England, to Anglo-Irish parents, Sean was raised in a culturally rich environment that would later influence his artistic pursuits.
Sean's early career began in the mid-1980s when he moved to Birmingham and enrolled in the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art. It was during his time at the school that he met his future wife, actress Bella Hamblin.
After graduating, Sean landed his first theatre job, playing the iconic roles of the Cheshire Cat and Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland at the Barnsley Theatre. This early success was followed by extensive work in audio drama, including roles for the BBC and independent companies.
Sean's television debut came in 1986 with a guest appearance in the British drama series Boon, followed by a string of credits in popular shows such as Jupiter Moon, Woof!, Resnick, Cruel Train, The Bill, Doctors, and No Angels.
In addition to his television work, Sean has also appeared in several feature films, including Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, N.F.A. (No Fixed Abode),iWitness, We Are the Freaks, and The Marker. He has also co-produced and casting-directed several films, including The Casebook of Eddie Brewer and Battle Lines.
As a voice artist, Sean has lent his talents to a range of projects, including Aardman Animations and the BBC. He voiced 30 characters in 13 episodes of the classic Claymation series Rex the Runt, and played 10 characters in the Oscar-nominated Shaun the Sheep Movie. Sean has also been heard in the CBeebies television series Little Prairie Dogs, as well as the CGI animated short Papa's Boy.
