Sharat Saxena is a renowned Indian actor, having made a significant mark in the Bollywood film industry. With a career spanning nearly four decades, he has acted in a staggering 160 Bollywood films. Saxena's acting journey began in the early 1970s, during which he primarily played supporting roles, often taking on the character of a father, uncle, or a villain.
Throughout his illustrious career, Saxena has been a part of some of the most successful Bollywood films, including Mr India, Tridev, Ghayal, Khiladi, Gupt: The Hidden Truth, Soldier, Baghban, Fanaa, Krrish, and Ek Hi Raasta (1993),to name a few. His remarkable performances in these films have solidified his position as one of the finest supporting actors in Bollywood.
In addition to his work in Bollywood, Saxena has also appeared in numerous Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil films. His role as Kichaka in the popular television serial Mahabharat is another notable achievement. Moreover, he was nominated for the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his outstanding performance in the film Ghulam (1998).
Currently residing in Madh Island, a colony on the outskirts of Mumbai, Saxena lives with his wife, Shobha, and their two children, Veera and Vishal, as well as their dog, Razor. Born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, Saxena pursued engineering in Electronics & Telecommunication from Jabalpur Engineering College before moving to Mumbai in 1972 to pursue his dream of becoming an actor.
Initially, Saxena found it challenging to secure roles due to his physical build, but he eventually landed the role of a henchman in his first film, Benaam (1974). This was followed by a string of successful films, including Dil Dewana, Agent Vinod, Kaala Pathar, and others.
