Stephnie Weir was born and raised in the heart of Texas, where she initially developed her passion for the performing arts by studying theater and broadcasting at Odessa Junior College. Subsequently, she pursued higher education at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where she delved into the fascinating fields of anthropology and women's studies.
As she honed her creative skills in the vibrant city of Chicago, Ms. Weir took the stage at esteemed institutions such as the Second City's Main Stage, the Goodman Theater, and the ImprovOlympic. Alongside her husband, Robert Dassie, she co-created a unique two-person show called "WeirDass," which they have successfully performed in various cities, including New York, Chicago, and Edinburgh. Her latest solo endeavor, "Slowdeatha, TX," premiered at the Comedy Central Stage.
Ms. Weir's impressive television career has spanned five seasons as a writer and performer on the popular sketch comedy show Mad TV, with her final episodes airing recently. Currently, she can be seen on the ABC comedy series Big Day, where she plays the role of the wedding planner, Lorna. In addition, she has made appearances in films such as Fun with Dick and Jane (2005) and is set to star in two upcoming independent features, Eden Court (2006) and Moonpie (2006).
