Stephen Arbuckle, a Canadian-born actor, embarked on his theatrical career in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, setting his sights on the stage rather than the sea, as his childhood in Donkin, a small coastal community on the edge of Cape Breton Island, had initially led him to consider a career in fishing.
However, his passion for the performing arts soon took precedence, and he made the decision to leave his hometown to pursue a career in film and television. In 2003, Arbuckle relocated to Toronto, where he landed the lead role in the short film Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, a turning point that opened doors to numerous national and international commercials for prominent brands such as Sony, BMW, Coors Light, and Pepsi.
Throughout his career, Arbuckle has sought out diverse and challenging roles, allowing him to work alongside some of the most accomplished television and film stars of today, including Viggo Mortensen, David Cronenberg, and Michael Madson. In 2010, he secured a role as a regular on ABC's Happy Town, starring alongside Sam Neil and Steven Weber, and also filmed a guest spot on the pilot of CBS's Blue Bloods, featuring Donnie Wahlburg and Tom Selleck.
In a full-circle moment, Arbuckle returned to his roots in film, appearing as a regular on the Todd and the Book of Pure Evil series on the Space Channel. When not working, Arbuckle prioritizes supporting emerging talent from his hometown of Cape Breton, often attending events and performances featuring musicians, comedians, actors, and film industry professionals from the region.
