Steven Alan Monroe is a seasoned actor with an impressive resume boasting over 150 film, television, and commercial roles to his credit. In addition to his acting career, he is a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in treating entertainment professionals and individuals struggling with addiction. Monroe has also honed his comedic skills by performing stand-up comedy in clubs throughout Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Monroe has had a diverse and nomadic upbringing, having lived and worked across North America and New Zealand. His father, a renowned pathologist, and his mother, who raised him and his three siblings, have undoubtedly had a profound influence on his life. Monroe's academic pursuits took him to Duke University, where he spent three years studying before transferring to Occidental College to earn a joint degree in Russian Language and Theatre Arts in 1993.
Over the years, Monroe has had the privilege of working with some of the most esteemed directors in the industry, including Clint Eastwood, Robert Zemeckis, Tom Shadyac, Jay Roach, Todd Phillips, Donald Petrie, and Daniel Petrie.
When he's not in front of the camera, Monroe continues to practice as a psychotherapist, a passion that he pursues with dedication and expertise. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, recording music, playing the guitar, and has even achieved advanced levels of study with the acclaimed improvisation troupe, the Groundlings.
