Summer's journey began in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she nurtured her passion for theatre through performances. This formative experience laid the foundation for her academic pursuits, as she subsequently enrolled at the University of Southern California to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, complemented by a minor in Theatre.
Throughout her academic tenure, Summer developed a remarkable talent for screenwriting, penning numerous produced screenplays that have garnered widespread recognition, including a nine-episode web-series, Pandemic Pillow Talk, which was filmed entirely remotely during the COVID-19 lockdown. Notably, Summer not only wrote the series but also starred in it, which was a spin-off of one of her earlier shorts. The series received extensive domestic press coverage, featuring the esteemed Eric Roberts alongside Summer.
As a testament to her dedication and expertise, Summer is an active member of the Producers Guild of America, Screen Actors Guild, and Local 871 IATSE. Furthermore, she is the visionary founder of the Rising Above Fest, a female empowerment film festival that has garnered mainstream press attention and hosted notable guests, including an Emmy-nominated host and a Forbes 30 Under 30 panelist.
