Athanasios Bayiokos, known professionally as Tommy Bayiokos, is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of talents. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Panagiotis and Eleftheria Bayiokos, he is the son of a restaurateur and a former beauty queen.
Bayiokos graduated from Brooklyn College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree, where he was a member of the Brooklyn College Conservatory Jazz Ensemble and a stage actor in the Walt Whitman Theatre. He also trained for eight years at the renowned Drummers Collective School of Music in Manhattan, New York Acting School for Film & Television, SAG Conservatory, and later with acting coach Wynn Handman.
As a musician, Bayiokos has an impressive list of credits, including playing drums for the Miss America pageant from 1998 to 2001 and performing as the front-man percussionist with Laura Branigan's band from 2001 to 2004. He has also shared the stage with legendary performers such as Frankie Avalon, Lee Musiker, and Richie Ramone.
In addition to his music career, Bayiokos has also had a successful acting career, appearing in numerous TV shows and films. His acting credits include roles in "Deadbeat," "The Next Best Thing," "Blue Bloods," "Madoff," and "FOSSE/VERDON," among others. He has also held roles in films such as "The Pigeon," "Blood Ties," "Act Of Vengeance," "The Taking of Pelham 123," and "The Amazing Floydini."
Bayiokos has also had a successful career in modeling, with credits including being the face of Sweden-based Exuviance Men's Skin Care and portraying a Secret Service agent in the world issue of "French Vogue." He has also appeared in national commercials, including as a college football coach in an ESPN ad, and was featured as a train conductor for a Bank Of America billboard displayed in Times Square.
As a martial artist, Bayiokos holds a Black Belt and has been inducted into the "Martial Art Hall of Honors" in 2009 and awarded "Ambassador of Goodwill" in 2011, 2014, and 2016. His talents have been featured in numerous major media outlets, including the New York Times, New York Post, New York Daily News, FOX News, People Magazine, and Backstage magazine.
