Here is the biography of Vaitiare:
Vaitiare was born Eugenie Vaitiare Hirshon in Tahiti, French Polynesia, to parents Charles Heimata Hirshon and Georgina Toomaru. Her father was of half American German-Jewish and half Tahitian-Maori descent, and her mother was a mix of French, English, Polynesian, and Cook Islander ancestry. Vaitiare's grandfather, Lewis Hirshon, was a stockbroker from New York, and her mother's family was related to the Royal House of Makea in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
Vaitiare left Tahiti with her mother and brother at the age of 8 and graduated high school at 16. She signed with a top modeling agency in Los Angeles and booked her first audition. She auditioned for Julio Iglesias' Christmas Special music video at 17 and was offered the lead female role in the remake of The Bounty, starring Mel Gibson, but turned it down.
In her early 20's, Vaitiare starred in her first comedy film in Spain, Tahiti's Girl, and then studied acting with Larry Moss in Los Angeles. She hosted a 13-episode documentary, "Tahiti and her Island", for TVE- Spain and appeared in several TV ads. She was named Ambassador of Good Will for a Disabled Children's Charity in South America and was the Hispanic spokesperson for Miller Beer from 1993 to 1995.
Vaitiare has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies, including Agujetas de color de rosa, U.S. Marshals, and Stargate SG-1, where she played the role of Daniel Jackson's wife, Sha're. She met the father of her child, Michael Shanks, on the set of Stargate SG-1 and has a daughter, Tatiana Shanks, born in 1998. She also has a son, Kenta Asars, born in 2005. Vaitiare resides in Los Angeles with her son Kenta.
