Vanessa, a multi-talented individual, has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. Born in Manchester, she has spent over two decades appearing in numerous popular TV dramas, including Waterloo Road, Heartbeat, and Coronation Street.
In addition to her acting career, Vanessa has also ventured into writing and directing. She has penned and directed two short films, both of which have gained international recognition by screening at prestigious festivals such as BAFTA, BIFA, and Academy-qualifying events. One of her short films is currently being developed into a feature-length production.
In 2021, Vanessa's comedy pilot, Unlucky, a story about a 6ft, wish-granting leprechaun, was selected for the Channel 4's 4Screenwriting mentorship scheme. This program, which received nearly 4000 submissions, offered Vanessa the opportunity to work alongside industry expert Beth Ainsley from Hillbilly Film & TV.
Most recently, Unlucky was picked up by SISTER Pictures - Northern Sister, a production company led by Creative Director Lucy Dyke, who has worked on projects such as ERIC, BLACK MIRROR, and THE SPLIT.
As a member of the BAFTA connect program, Vanessa continues to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry, pushing boundaries and exploring new creative avenues.
