Yu Shirota is a Japanese actor and singer, renowned for his captivating performances in various roles, including Kunimitsu Tezuka in The Prince of Tennis movie and Tenimyu musicals, as well as Tuxedo Kamen in the Sailor Moon Musicals. Additionally, he is a member of the young men's stage acting troupe D-Boys, which presents skit-like performances.
Born on December 26, 1985, Yu Shirota has a unique cultural background, with a Japanese father and a Spanish mother. He spent his early years in Barcelona until the age of two, after which he returned to Japan for elementary school. Despite being raised in Japan, Yu Shirota still speaks Spanish fluently in everyday conversations.
Yu Shirota's love for music and composing began at a young age. His family would often sing together, and he would borrow his older sister's keyboard to join in. His mother taught him piano, and he composed his first piece, titled "The Tear," in the fourth grade.
Yu Shirota's acting career began with the release of his Idol DVD, With U, on November 16, 2005. He has since appeared in numerous commercials, commercial videos, TV shows, musicals, movies, and music videos, including MISIA's "In My Soul."

He has also played the role of Kunimitsu Tezuka, the captain of Seigaku Middle School's tennis club, in The Prince of Tennis Musicals.
Yu Shirota's filmography includes the live-adaptation film of the manga series, The Prince of Tennis, and the movie June Bride, in which he played the title character Natsumi alongside fellow D-Boy members Hiroki Suzuki and Hirofumi Araki.
