Born in Saitama, a prefecture located just north of Tokyo, in the year 1980, Takeuchi Yuko embarked on her acting career in 1996 with a role in Fuji TV's Cyborg. Since then, she has appeared in numerous TV serials and movies without interruption, gaining widespread recognition through her portrayal in NHK's series Asuka in 1999. Her outstanding performance in the 2003 film Yomigaeri, which explores the theme of resurrection, earned her recognition from the Japanese Academy Awards.
In her personal life, Takeuchi married Shido Nakamura in 2005, with whom she co-starred in the 2004 film Ima, Ai Ni Yukimasu. However, the couple divorced three years later. She also received the Nikkan Sports Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Saido Ka Ni Inu in 2007.
In addition to her acting career, Takeuchi ventured into cookbook writing, releasing her debut cookbook, Takeuchi Marchais, Presenting 102 Delicious Warm-Hearted Recipes, in 2011. The cookbook featured a collection of recipes that showcased her culinary skills and warm personality.
Tragically, Takeuchi's life was cut short when she was found dead at her Tokyo home on September 26, 2020. The circumstances surrounding her death were suspect, with the cause believed to be suicide. Just nine months prior, she had given birth to her second child. Takeuchi was represented by Stardust promotion, a prominent talent agency in Japan.
