Two navy sailors, Joe and Clarence, enjoy their leave in Hollywood, with Joe seeking a good time and a reunion with his girlfriend Lola, while Clarence aims to find a girl. They befriend a young runaway who wants to join the navy, and subsequently meet his aunt, Susan, a beautiful aspiring singer. Clarence develops a crush on Susan and enlists Joe's help to impress her, but Joe's own feelings for Susan soon surface, complicating his promise to introduce her to a prominent music producer.
