Mutant tomatoes are wreaking havoc across the US, leaving a trail of destruction and death. Despite the threat, the White House denies any widespread menace, directing the President's press secretary to work with a public relations firm to downplay the situation. Meanwhile, a secret committee of obscure scientists and military experts, led by retired spy Mason Dixon, is formed to investigate the source of the mutant tomatoes and find a way to neutralize them.
