Two prisoners, Hengist and Horsa, are taken to Rome after being captured by the Romans. Hengist's attempts at inventing are unsuccessful, while Horsa proves to be a skilled and resourceful warrior. When Hengist is mistakenly identified as a fighter, he is recruited into the Royal Guard to protect Caesar, much to the dismay of Cleo, who plots against him.
