A group of disgruntled townspeople replace Sheriff Ken with Boots after stealing the safe's money, while Clem, Ken's brother, becomes a prisoner of the outlaw Rawhide. However, Clem has a change of heart and sends Ken a message revealing Rawhide's location, allowing Ken to escape by disguising himself as a saloon performer and ride to the outlaw's hideout.

A group of townsfolk, suspicious of wrongdoing, overthrow Ken and appoint Boots as Sheriff, putting the rightful leader under arrest. But in a surprising turn, Clem, who once helped Rawhide, begins secretly aiding Ken's daring escape.
